I live for the Lord and his anointed
All else is a disappointment
No matter what you see
It’s not all that it’s cracked up to be
And all the searching that people do
Trying to find something to see them through
Trying to make their fearfulness to cease
But there’s only one Prince of Peace
I’ll stick with G-O-D
He’s the only one that really knows me
Every step I take every move I make
Away from him is a huge mistake
If I come to him he’ll give me rest
If I do his will I will be blessed
And the blessing won’t be manmade
The people that see it will have to say
Kings have kept on passing
But God’s kingdom is everlasting
As one generation raises up
Another generation lays in dust
And their opinions are brought to nothing
So why would I think my thoughts are something
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
God’s will or bust; in him I trust
Every purpose is a service
If my works don’t serve, then my gift is worthless
The Lord is still on the throne
So I make my requests to God known
I never do anything carefully
Because I always do everything prayerfully
If you ask, you’ll receive
All things are possible if you’ll believe
All kings will fall down before him
All things were made by and for him
Even the wicked for the day of evil
The creator’s too great to equal
He does what he wants in the power of heaven
Does what he wants 24 hours 7
Days a week 52 weeks a year
There is no other only he’s to fear
No one has ever been his counselor
No one has given him his power
No one can stop his hand or say
What are you doing; he’ll have his way
When he opens it there’s no closing it
When he closes it no one can open it
I can have a number of plans
But the counsel of the Lord is what will stand
