Venture and gain, never the same

You can’t measure the pain, but the pleasure remains

Do whatever it takes to enter the gates

Metaphorically speaking even sever a leg

Or an arm.  If something that you think you need

Causes you to stumble then it needs to leave

For betterment you have to endeavor it

To see it come to pass you can never quit

There’s a price to pay a sacrifice to make

More time to take and a higher stake

Big dollar chips no playing with nickels

Wager a little and stay in the middle

Looking back at what you would’ve had

If you could’ve had what you should’ve grabbed

Wondering why you never took the chance

Why you forsook your plans for something good at hand

Few will climb when it’s too inclined

They’re too reclined at executing time

Lukewarm is suicide when it’s is do or die

Seek and you will find like when a jewel is mined

Block the hurt don’t stop the search

When the rock that’s earthed has a lot of worth

It could get rough and you could give up

And you could live up to good enough

Can you live with less than the best.  Quit the test,

And forsake your dream, then what’s left

No means to be satisfied, gratified or happy by

Meeting needs that is why we receive sacrifice

And take loss and pay costs

And forsake all for dreams cause these cannot die

They’re not passing by.  It’s like bondage

Chained to a vision enslaved to a mission

No mountain too high no valley to low

If Columbus can sail the blue ocean

You can boldly go where God only knows

You must dig down deep and be totally sold

Columbus no doubt had to toil

Scrutinized mutinied then land ahoy

It’s awesome to see the Lord’s intervention

But the cross comes before resurrection

So you know with no come-what-may grit

Your someday list is just a wish

Forget scoffers and critics and what they spit

Doubting Thomases and the faithless

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Average

Are no romantics; they don’t grasp it

Persecution and affliction are sure to arise

Words of the wise, endure for the prize
